Dear Dean Hazeltine,

Since mine was one of the many lives you touched at Brown, I couldn't pass up this opportunity to wish you a very Happy 75th Birthday—this is a truly significant milestone—and lots of good wishes for many more birthdays to come!

It's been over 10 years now since I graduated from Brown, but every time I think back to the time I spent there, one of my fondest memories includes the numerous interactions I had with you: as a student, one of your TAs, and as a friend. When I entered Brown, I had my mind set on going into clinical psychology, and it wasn't until I took your course that I realized my strengths lay elsewhere, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Thanks for your warmth and compassion, your encouragement, and all those insightful yet light-hearted discussions about Malawi and Southern Africa—yes I do still go back! Congratulation once again, and warm wishes to you and Mary!

Best regards,

Lydia Maele
